At New Beginnings, we want you to feel as confident and comfortable as your child does.
From the moment you walk through our doors, you become part of our nursery family. We take the time to get to know you and your child, understand what is important to you and build a relationship based on trust, openness and partnership.
Every child arrives with their own personality, interests, routines and little ways of doing things. We celebrate those differences and make sure their day reflects who they are. Our experienced practitioners are there to nurture, encourage and support them, creating opportunities to explore, discover, make friends, develop independence and build confidence.
We also know that your child's nursery journey is your journey too. That's why we believe in keeping you involved, sharing the special moments and celebrating their achievements with you — from their first steps and new words to the friendships they make and the confidence they develop.
A typical day at New Beginnings
Arriving at nursery
The day begins with a warm welcome.
After parking in our designated safe parking or drop-off spaces, where available, you and your child will enter through our secure and monitored entrance, where you'll be greeted by familiar members of our nursery team and your child's dedicated Key Person.
We know that arriving at nursery can be a big moment, particularly for our youngest children, so we aim to make every arrival feel calm, reassuring and positive.
Morning
Your child will settle into their nursery room and begin their day alongside their friends and familiar practitioners.
From our baby rooms through to our pre-school classrooms, each environment has its own character, carefully designed to reflect the children's age, stage of development and interests.
Through our Watch Us Grow curriculum, children have access to a wealth of resources, experiences and activities that encourage them to follow their curiosity, explore new ideas and develop new skills.
Outdoor play
Outdoor play is an important part of the nursery day.
Our outdoor environments give children space to explore, investigate, move freely and challenge themselves, with the support of our experienced practitioners.
Being outdoors provides wonderful opportunities to develop physical skills, confidence and independence, while encouraging children's natural curiosity and connection with the world around them.
Lunch
Mealtimes are an important part of the day — a chance to enjoy good food, develop independence and spend time together.
Our chefs prepare fresh, balanced and varied meals on site, with menus designed to introduce children to a range of tastes, textures and nutritious foods.
We encourage children to explore new foods at their own pace and make mealtimes a relaxed and sociable experience.
Indoor play and learning
Our indoor environments are designed to spark imagination, encourage creativity and inspire curiosity.
Children have access to a rich variety of carefully selected resources and activities, with practitioners creating opportunities for learning across all areas of the Watch Us Grow curriculum.
Sometimes learning comes through planned experiences; sometimes it begins with a child's question, fascination or idea. Our practitioners are there to notice those moments and help children take their learning further.
Naps and quiet time
Rest is an important part of a child's day, particularly for babies and toddlers.
When it's time to sleep or relax, our environments become calm, comfortable and cosy, providing children with the opportunity to rest according to their individual needs.
We work closely with parents and carers to understand each child's sleep routines and preferences, helping to ensure they receive the rest they need to feel happy and ready to enjoy the rest of their day.
Home time
As the day comes to an end, we want parents to feel that they have been part of their child's day.
Your child's Key Person or a member of our team will share the highlights of their day with you — from what they have eaten and how well they have rested, to the activities they have enjoyed, new experiences they've explored and achievements they've made.
It's an opportunity to celebrate the little moments, share important updates and ensure you never miss those special milestones.
