Keeping Your Child Safe

Safeguarding children at

New Beginnings

New Beginnings is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. To achieve our commitment, we will ensure continuous development and improvement of robust safeguarding processes and procedures that promote a culture of safeguarding amongst our staff and visitors.

We are committed to inspiring, challenging and safeguarding the children in our care, enabling them to become:

  • Successful learners, who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve.
  • Confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives.
  • Responsible little people who will make a positive contribution within nursery and beyond.

Safer Recruitment and Responsibilities

At New Beginnings we have a clear safer recruitment policy and procedure in place. This is the vital first step towards keeping the children safe. Staff are recruited safely and fairly, by trained managers, who consider children’s safety at every stage of the process.

All adults who work within our nurseries have a responsibility to read and understand all safeguarding policies (please refer to the policies and procedures page).

All adults are also expected to read the DfE guidance: Keeping Children Safe in Education, alongside the statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children, and departmental advice What to do if you are worried a child is being abused- Advice for practitioners.

All staff at New Beginnings take responsibility for promoting the welfare and well-being of the children in our care. The statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation stage also require that our staff safeguard the welfare of all children by referring any serious concerns that they may have to a member of the Nurseries Safeguarding Team. This team, who receive regular training in all matters relating to safeguarding, will always treat all information, sensitively, confidentially and in a professional manner.

Take a look at the NSPCC early years safeguarding information, which outlines the types, signs, and impacts of abuse, along with practical tips for ensuring your child's safety and instructions on how to report any worries you may have.

In line with our ongoing dedication to supporting the welfare of our parents and families, we have created a guidance document on Early Help. This resource is designed to educate families and our staff on how early intervention can offer support and establish protective factors that enhance a child's well-being. Delve into the information to discover how early help can be beneficial.
